Ethiopia's oldest town (3000 years), where a stone-built temple is the best preserved example of Pre-Axumite architecture. Constructed of well-dressed blocks, it is a double-story building with tiny windows. It was decorated with sculptures in a typical south Arabian-derived style, with inscriptions in the Himyaritic syllabary.
