Site in the Jordan valley at Afikim, Israel, where there are a series of Pleistocene deposits with stone tools dated from potassium-argon dates between 1.7- 0.7 million years ago. The lower levels are of Oldowan type, while Acheulian types appear above and had a pebble tool and flake industry similar to Olduvai Gorge. Some fragments of Homo erectus have been found.
