Burnished wares mainly in the form of bowls, jars, and tankards in a color range from creamy-buff to orange-red made at various centers along the Severn. Kiln sites are known at Malvern and Shepton Mallet, Somerset. It was at one time known as Glevum ware, since it was first recognized at Gloucester. It is found all over the Severn Valley and small quantities reached the western part of Hadrian's Wall.
