This name has been given to a Mesolithic culture of Ulster, based on sites at Lough Lame. Recently the use of the term has been criticized and restricted in scope, but it is still sometimes used for the late Mesolithic with large flake blades and Bann points, which are heavy pointed flakes sometimes with a rudimentary tang.
