Ivory

Material from enlarged teeth (or tusk) of certain mammals and used for various tools and artifacts from the Upper Palaeolithic. The tusks of elephants, mammoths, and walruses have been prized throughout prehistory and history.

A material derived from a greatly enlarged tooth, or tusk, often belonging originally to an elephant, but sometimes from other animals, such as walrus or narwhal. It has been used since the Upper Palaeolithic for tools, artwork and other artefacts.
