A cape in southwest Turkey off which a Bronze Age merchant ship foundered in the 13th century BC. It was discovered in 1960, providing a classic example of underwater archaeology and useful information on the Mycenaeans. Its cargo had consisted of pottery, bronze tools, and ox-hide ingots of copper and tin from Cyprus.
