A Middle Horizon site in the Ayacucho Valley near Huari, Peru, which was probably a religious shrine. Two large offering deposits of Huari ceramics have been found, including large beaker-shaped urns and painted face-neck jars, intentionally smashed, which have a distinctive polychrome decoration that is clearly Tiahuanaco-influenced, including iconography similar to that of the Gateway of the Sun.

A site dating to the Early Middle Horizon, located in the Ayacucho Valley near Huari, Peru, and probably the site of a religious shrine. Large beaker-shaped urns, intentionally smashed and concentrated in only a few locations, appear to have votive or some other ceremonial significance. The polychrome decoration is distinctive but is clearly TiAHUANACO-influenced: depictions of the ‘Gateway God’ are common. Conchopata materials frequently appear in early Huari contexts.
