Large rectangular water reservoirs in Cambodia; notable examples at Angkor are the Eastern (Oriental) Baray, originally called YaSodh-aratataka, 7 by 1.8 km, built by king YaSovarman (889-900), and the Western (Occidental) Baray, 8 by 2.2 km, built by king Udayadityavarman II (1050-66).
