A kingdom founded in 192 in the southernmost part of the Han Chinese commandery of Jih-nan in present central Vietnam. Later it became known as the Ind-ianized kingdom of Champa, which was eventually absorbed by Vietnam in the course of its expansion into the southern part of the Indochinese Peninsula.
