A Maori lake-edge fortification (pa) in the Waikato District, North Island, New Zealand. The site has produced one of the most complete Classic Maori settlement plans known (dated 15001800), with remains of palisades, houses, a central open space (marae), and many wooden objects from the adjacent lake.
