Distinctive green glazed pottery that came to light in the 19th-century excavations of the forum in Rome. This ware has since been found on many sites close to Rome, and in settlements of all types in southern Etruria. It typically comprises pitchers, often with incised wavy-line decoration around the body of the pot. Some scholars regarded these pots as later medieval, but it has now been proved that the ware belongs to the 6th or early 7th century and, therefore, reflects the latest phase of Late Roman activity.
