A human statue has been discovered in Göbeklitepe, located in the Haliliye district of Şanlıurfa.

The statue was found inside the wall of a room situated between Structures B and D at Göbeklitepe.

Mounted horizontally into the wall, the statue is thought to have been placed as a votive offering.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy stated, “This new find is a highly valuable discovery that will shed light on the rituals and belief systems of the Neolithic Age.”

At Göbeklitepe, known as the “zero point of history” and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, numerous significant discoveries have been made to date.
